Tuesday (10/31): Happy Halloween! Vocabulary due today. Mice film response paper due Wednesday. Remember, you must explain which you found more effective, the book or the film, and explain why using THREE specific examples. You need an introduction (mentions title, author, director of film-Gary Sinise- and statement declaring one as better than the other and why-your thesis). Your body will include your three reasons why. Your conclusion will restate thesis and leave reader thinking about your topic.

Tuesday (9/5): Please bring a copy of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian to class today (if you have one). Week #1 vocabulary is due NEXT Tuesday (9/12): (root=contra, counter-against), contraindication, contravene, counterclaim, counterintuitive, contraband, contrast, counterfeit, contraceptive, counterculture. In the vocabulary section of your note book, write the part of speech and definition for each word. Tonight you should work on the letter you began writing in class today. It is due by Friday. I would be happy to take it tomorrow if you finish it early.
